This is the final part to the sermon, the very last thing to say to yourself. I want to say first before I write this final idea down, is that I do not disagree with it I just believe that it should be first on the list. 5) God will always be with me. I have to say that if I stay in Him and His Word, walk the steps He has ordained for me (Prov. 20:24) then yes I believe He will always be with me. It is not so simple to believe we can walk away from God and expect Him to honor us when we dishonor Him. His Love knows no bounds and He proved it at the cross, so why do we put Him last in our lives and thoughts just as in these five “wise” things to say to ourselves? We can count on God on the worst of days, and the best of days. We put Him first and He is with us! Psalms 23 4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. This is the Hope of our Faith! Our God loves us and cherishes us as a prized possession, He gave His only Son so that we may be with Him always (John 3:16). So with that in mind let me list 5 things to say to yourself daily. 1. I Love the Lord and He Loves me! 2. I am His cherished child. 3. I can do all things because He strengthens me. 4. I will show and share His love for me to others, His name is Jesus. 5. I will thank God daily for every day He gives me to love others. Be Blessed! Rev. Marty Carmichael Blessed to be Pastor of Salem Church of God
We find that it helps to daily tell ourselves positive thoughts so that we can be better at work, at home, at driving, and at accomplishing those things our life demands of us. Sometimes we believe that we have to do these things in and of ourselves, as a Christian that is just not true. So lets continue on the 5 things to say. 3) I know that I'm a winner. The definition of winner is someone who has won, past tense. It could be used as one who wins; however, we haven't finished yet. To win we must not only run but run according to the rules(2 Tim 2:5). We are all racing to a goal, doing the work along the way and we need to keep our eyes on Jesus and run to win! 1 Corinthians 9 24 Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but only one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may win. 4) I can do it, I know I can. Being positive is great and knowing we can do something normally comes from having done whatever it is before. We need to get real with what we can do. I was working on a car and one bolt was being very, very stubborn. Several of us tried to get it to turn with breaker bars and double wrenching (this is to all who have seen, done, or knows what this is). We were all hot and tired and unable to get the bolt to move, so I prayed. I took one wrench and turned the bolt out. When we look to the Lord for help, our eyes on Him, we will see His gracious hand in our work (Psalms 123:2). We do NOT need to know we can do anything, we need to remember that God can do all things, and that He can and will do these things through us! Simply put "If He can, we can"!! Philippians 4 13 I can do all things through Him who strengthens me. When we look to the Lord and keep His Word in our hearts, we need only to thank Him for the day! We need not tell ourselves over and over again, things that fall short of what our God has already said of us. He has written His love for us and His name is Jesus! One more “thing to say” to be discussed! Be Blessed Rev. Marty Carmichael Pastor of the wonderful Salem Church of God
I was looking for more wisdom and found 5 things to say to yourself every day. This is motivational yes, wise not so sure. 1) Today will be my day. If we believe that we are a new creature in Christ (2Co 5:17), we do things that glorify our God and Father(1Pe 4:11). So we look to each day to do the will of the Father, save souls in the name of Jesus for His Kingdom. So take each day and ask what we can do to glorify God and understand this is a day God has made for us. Psalms 118 24 This is the day which the LORD has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it. 2) I am the best me there is. I would like to think this of myself. I also know I could shed a few pounds, my frustration levels could come down, my physical abilities need some work, etc. I am NOT the best me there is, and that is in relation to the physical which will pass away. If we trust our Lord then we know He has so much more for us than our situation dictates, and our natural eyes see at the moment. We do; however, have to be a better 'me" in the Lord so that I may do His work, and be effective in Jesus name. So how do we become the "better me" I need to be? Romans 12 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect. Church we must open the Word of God daily and see the goodness and mercy He has for us to share with the world. The world is sadly lacking in the Goodness of God, the Church is to bring this the Good News and saving grace of Jesus to the spiritual desert we call the world. The Church cannot do this if our collective mind is not renewed in the Word of God daily. Clear your eyes of the vulgar reality this world births by reading, read out loud so as to clear the ear canals of the foul language we hear often. Do This Daily! More to come!! Rev. Marty Carmichael Pastor of the wonderful Salem Church of God
This week I will be posting the sermon intended for this Sunday 4-28. The Word for this week is wisdom. The difference between the worlds wisdom and what God says about it in His Holy Word. So what does wisdom look like? Does it have a human face? Maybe a white beard and a craggy face? It takes a long time to gain wisdom right? Maybe; just maybe, it looks like a Bible. An open one works better for this application. We will use verses from within this Wonderful Word to show what God thinks of man made wisdom. Let me bring to the discussion one Eckhart Tolle. More of a motivational writer/speaker. Here is an excerpt from his book The Power of Now. Surrender to what is. Say "yes" to life - and see how suddenly life starts working for you rather than against you. We believe there is a choice to make, God or the god of this world, sadly if we just surrender to "what is" we will fall prey to our enemy. This is in direct conflict of saying yes to life. In John 14:6 it says: Jesus said to him "I am the way, the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me." If you say yes to life we are saying yes to Jesus, this is the way we want to go! Sadly Tolle is mistaken and his "wisdom" is flawed. This one quote does not make him wise it is just misleading and then others fall into the trap of a well equipped enemy. We will look at more through the week. Be Blessed. Rev. Marty Carmichael

After praying I needed to let you in on a few things said in Sunday's service. When I spoke of familiar spirits and how to know them it was a word from the Holy Spirit. Just wanted you to know to underline and highlight those points. There will be a day when we will be set upon those with these spirits and they will attempt to lead us astray. It's Armor Time Church! Be Blessed
Here we go! I am challenging everyone who views this to a 30 day vow to pray this! I arise today Through a mighty strength, the invocation of the Trinity, Through belief in the Threeness, Through confession of the Oneness of the Creator of creation. I arise today Through the strength of Christ's birth with His baptism, Through the strength of His crucifixion with His burial, Through the strength of His resurrection with His ascension, Through the strength of His descent for the judgment of doom. I arise today Through the strength of the love of cherubim, In the obedience of angels, In the service of archangels, In the hope of resurrection to meet with reward, In the prayers of patriarchs, In the predictions of prophets, In the preaching of apostles, In the faith of confessors, In the innocence of holy virgins, In the deeds of righteous men. I arise today, through The strength of heaven, The light of the sun, The radiance of the moon, The splendor of fire, The speed of lightning, The swiftness of wind, The depth of the sea, The stability of the earth, The firmness of rock. I arise today, through God's strength to pilot me, God's might to uphold me, God's wisdom to guide me, God's eye to look before me, God's ear to hear me, God's word to speak for me, God's hand to guard me, God's shield to protect me, God's host to save me From snares of devils, From temptation of vices, From everyone who shall wish me ill, afar and near. I summon today All these powers between me and those evils, Against every cruel and merciless power that may oppose my body and soul, Against incantations of false prophets, Against black laws of pagandom, Against false laws of heretics, Against craft of idolatry, Against spells of witches and smiths and wizards, Against every knowledge that corrupts man's body and soul; Christ to shield me today Against poison, against burning, Against drowning, against wounding, So that there may come to me an abundance of reward. Christ with me, Christ before me, Christ behind me, Christ in me, Christ beneath me, Christ above me, Christ on my right, Christ on my left, Christ when I lie down, Christ when I sit down, Christ when I arise, Christ in the heart of every man who thinks of me, Christ in the mouth of everyone who speaks of me, Christ in every eye that sees me, Christ in every ear that hears me. [Note that people sometimes pray a shorter version of this prayer just with these 15 lines about Christ above. The conclusion follows below.] I arise today Through a mighty strength, the invocation of the Trinity, Through belief in the Threeness, Through confession of the Oneness of the Creator of creation. Lets get powerful!
Remember hate has no place in a Christians life. The saying "Love the sinner, hate the sin." is Ghandi's thought not our God's command. We are to abhor, or more specifically to recoil from, sin. Of course we love the sinner, just do not allow hate a foot hold in your life! Be Blessed!!
Just a thought moving towards Sunday. 1 Chronicles 16 8 Oh give thanks to the LORD, call upon His name; Make known His deeds among the peoples. 9 Sing to Him, sing praises to Him; Speak of all His wonders. 10 Glory in His holy name; Let the heart of those who seek the LORD be glad. 11 Seek the LORD and His strength; Seek His face continually. Are we thanking Him and making Him known? Are we seeking Him?
Good morning! I apologize for my tardiness in posting. Remember to pray for our government this week. We need to keep in mind our freedom is from any government, it is from God. This prayer is according to Romans 13:1-7 Oh Holy Father! My Great God and King, I acknowledge Your Lordship in my life and I submit to Your Good will towards me. I know You have called me to be obedient to the authority You have set above me. I thank You that I have a vote for those in authority, and therefore I subject myself to their governing. I pray that those appointed to those positions do Your Perfect Will, for all of us, and for Your Glory Lord! Rather than rail against those governing I pray for peace for them. May Your Great Grace perfect the day and their rule. I pray the Precious Blood of Jesus over them that they may return our land to You for Your Glory Father. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen and Amen!
Pray for our government today. Romans 13:1-7 tells us God put governments in place for His Perfect Will. Pray they do the will of our Father in Heaven!
For our Church family and friends. You can find the last installment of Prayer here - https://youtu.be/6-AhLvV9S0E. Due to time limitations it is short, much shorter than Sunday service, lol! By the way don't get any ideas! Be Blessed!!

Now that we have put on the Armor of God, let us face our enemy and overcome!(Ephesians 6) We know that we are to pray in an attitude of thankfulness which builds a humble heart, bringing petitions to our Lord. Now as we move forward in this new year, we will get stronger in faith and go to battle in the Name of Jesus, defeating our enemy at every turn and freeing God's creation and our loved ones from the chains of this world.
